Our behavior pattern might turn our own children into becoming war criminals!

  • In the past, the rulers of Arab and Muslim nations were openly and vehemently opposed to genocides in Palestine and the wider Middle East.
  • Over time, they slowly started to shift their positions, proposing peace agreements of all kinds with Israel.
  • In the last 10 years, portions of Muslims and Arabs nations have gradually started to change their position, too, after the political normalizations with Israel.
  • Today, more rulers are supporting the genocide, and portions of their nations provide finance and men to it, while religious scholars and leaders, unions and the civil society are keeping quiet.
Given this trend, I bet that, in the next major genocide, our own children who will be in their 30s and 40s, will themselves be soldiers, killing the "terrorists", and burning and torturing their women and children, or burying them alive.

  • In the past, people learned about genocides through the radio, evening TV news bulletins, and newspapers—when they could afford to buy them.
  • With the advent of the Internet, we learned about the genocide through online digital newspapers.
  • Today, we are learning about the genocde through videos, on social media.
Given this trend, I bet that, in the next major genocide, soldiers and even own children will be live-streaming their kills, allowing millions to follow and rate them.

  • In the past, only state-run TV stations and newspapers could profit from war coverage.
  • Then, online news platforms emerged, taking their share of the market.
  • Today, anyone can make money by sharing videos of genocide on social media.
Given the trend, I bet that, in the next big genocide, there will be an economic model allowing soldiers to be compensated based on the number of viewers and followers who connect to their body cameras.
They will even receive tips from their followers on how to atrociously torture and kill a child, to keep their income growing.

  • Our parents would mourn and pray for God to interven, to stop the genocides of their time.
  • We, ourselves, picked up the habit and have been doing just that for the last 30 years.
  • In the current genocide, we have increased our prayers, got them more sophisticated and shared them online.
But genocides have always run their full, tragic course until their end.

If we don't break free from this long-standing behavior pattern that has never solved any problem,
if we don't heed the many warnings we see and live daily,
if we keep refusing to follow God's commands and just keep praying for Him to step in (like those described in Quran 5:20-26)
then our own children will be dragged slowly and surely into being the next war criminals,
while we will be just as helpless as we are today.

The way to prevent this horrific future is to start building a grassroot movement against any kind of injustice, starting by the ones in this country.
This will give us the opportunity to organize, to unite, and to learn from each other, allowing us
to protect our children and
to steer our governments, stopping them from harming their people and others.

Let's act on the empathy that God has placed in our hearts,
and let's bring our children into the movement that refuses the suffering of any human being.

  • The famine in Eithiopia (though some might question if we even care for the suffering of other nations)
  • The Iraq-Iran war
  • Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • The Rwandan genocide
  • The 20 year-long embargo and destruction of Iraq
  • The repeated incursions into the West Bank (and the assassination of the President Yasser Arafat)
  • The repetitive wars on Gaza
  • The Rohingya genocide
  • The persecution of religious minorities in China, including enslavement, torture, and organ-harvesting by the CCP
None of these got us to change our behavior.
Will the current genocide in Gaza be any different?

Stand up for justice and against evil in society

This is a call to the Muslim community to stand up for justice and fight off injustice and evil in society. 1. Introduction We witness injustice and human tragedies in our society, on a daily basis. Yet, we do nothing to address them. For instance, What are we doing for the children being mistreated, abused and even killed (1) ? How are we addressing the root causes that lead indigenous people to be more likely to grow up in state care and then in prisons ? What actions are we taking to prevent the following situation A pregnant woman suffering from domestic violence, whose child is mistreated in foster care, whose privacy is invaded by woman-looking men, whose old mother is soon to be thrown to the street (because her aged-care facility is closing down) and whose sick father is pressured to accept euthanasia?
